The Purpose of the
“Place of Light” Campaign
Years ago when American Indians lived in the current areas of Hall, Forsyth, and Dawson Counties, the Chestatee River trickled its way down from the mountains until it merged with the Chattahoochee River. The Indians used the river for transportation and would light bonfires at night along the bank to light their torches as they traveled. The Indians named the river "Chestatee" which means "Place of Light."
Like the bonfires along the river, Lanier Hills Church sits near the Chestatee river and today serves as a "Place of Light" for the three counties. Lanier Hills is strategically placed by God to help people along the Chestatee and beyond find hope in the darkness through a genuine relationship with Jesus.
The Lanier Hills Church buildings were built 25 years ago and have allowed the church to impact thousands of lives over the years. Now the facilities are aging and in need of an update. The "Place of Light" campaign is an effort to raise funds for updating current facilities and building a new pavilion to help the church continue to be a place of light for generations to come. The projects will help create a modern and welcoming environment for you and the people you invite to church.
The Goal
The goal is to raise $500,000 for current and new facilities.
This will allow Lanier Hills Church to be a "Place of Light" for many years to come. Any amount raised over the $500,000 will be used to pay down the remaining debt on the current building.
“A season of sacrifice for an eternity of reward.”
The "PLACE OF LIGHT" Campaign will allow the church to pay cash
for the following projects:
Build a large multi-use pavilion at the playground for the community and church.
Build a new covered walkway and entrance for the Children's facility.
Modernize the outdated exterior of both buildings.
Convert all interior lighting in both buildings to new LEDs.
Replace the old carpet in both buildings.
Build a permanent new sign at the entrance of the church property.
Update flooring in the main building bathrooms.
Build a sustainable walking trail on the property for the community.*
